The Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is cutting-edge, innovative and market-driven to prepare students for today’s industry demands. Two tracks are offered as a part of the program: (1)Construction Project Management and (2) Industrial Manufacturing.
Engineering Program Goals
- Prepare graduates with knowledge, skills and abilities to complete computer-aided design of parts, facilities and project design by the end of their freshman enrollment year.
- Prepare graduates to communicate effectively utilizing engineering terminology and techniques for effective results.
- Prepare graduates with knowledge, skills and abilities in design, quality, safety, project management, and supervision to lead employees and technical operations used to create products, goods and services by the end of their second year of enrollment.
- Prepare graduates to collaborate with clients, architects, other engineers, upper management and other project members to determine and complete tasks.
- Prepare graduates to use computer applications to solve problems related to data, management, spread sheets and Internet utilization.
- Prepare graduates who acquire a general education, which enables them to communicate verbally, perform mathematical computations, and exhibit social interest and responsibility.
- Prepare graduates who display the sensibilities and character of a freethinking person capable of being a critical thinker, problem-solver and be a responsible citizen.
- Prepare graduates who possess a range, depth, and scope of knowledge about engineering, management, operations and production efficiency
- Prepare engineering graduates with skill sets that lead to continuous improvement.
Engineering Program Objectives

To provide a general overall understanding of American and international industry, research, design, production, management and servicing
- To provide each engineering major with a firm understanding of modern engineering practices and procedures used by industry
- To provide each engineering major with an industrial area of specialization in construction project management or industrial/manufacturing that will prepare the student for a position in Corporate America
- To provide each student with a background in design, project management and efficient production
- To instill in each student an appreciation of the American work ethic and for completing tasks with pride
- To provide students with engineering experience, utilizing the latest traditional and high technology instrumentation and equipment
- To provide students with personal, professional, academic and occupational advice
Engineering Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, graduates will possess:

the ability to apply oral and written communication in both engineering and non-engineering environments; and to identify and use appropriate engineering and technical literature;
- the ability to identify, analyze and solve engineering, managerial and technology problems;
- the ability to apply a knowledge of appropriate science, technology, engineering, mathematics and communication skills to solve complex problems; and
- a commitment to efficiency, quality and continuous improvement.
Program Admission Requirements
For full admission into the Engineering program, students must meet the admission requirements of the University with an ACT score of 19 or above or SAT score equivalent (1330 or above OLD TEST) OR 980 (NEW TEST). Students with an ACT score of 15-18 or SAT score equivalent (1060 -1320 OLD TEST) or (810-940 NEW TEST) will be considered for conditional admission. Students must successfully complete prerequisite coursework with a grade of ‘C’ or better.
