This curriculum is designed for those students who wish to pursue graduate studies in chemistry or a professional degree in medicine or pharmacy or work as laboratory chemists.
Goals
To provide:
A thorough knowledge of chemical principles and phenomena for Chemistry majors or minors.
The necessary course work, content, and laboratory experience to adequately prepare students for graduate or professional schools;
The necessary course work, content, and laboratory experience to prepare students for careers as professional chemists;
An introduction to modern chemical laboratory methods and instrumentation; and
Opportunity for students to engage in chemical research or other self-directed projects.
Major Requirements
The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Physics (chemistry option) requires 120 hours of credit, a minimum of forty-four (44) hours in chemistry and includes the following chemistry courses:
