CHEM 4360 - Forensic Chemistry I

Prerequisites: Prerequisite: (CHEM 2330 - Quantitative Analysis Lecture  and CHEM 2130 - Quantitative Analysis Laboratory ) (CHEM 3321 - Organic Chemistry II Lecture  and CHEM 3121 - Organic Chemistry II Laboratory ).
This course reviews topics covered in introductory, quantitative analysis, organic chemistry, biochemistry and instrumental analysis that are vital in forensic chemistry. Particular emphasis is placed on treatment of data, acid/base characteristics of drugs, ionizable centers, solubility and use of instruments to detect drugs and poisons.

Lecture: Requires 3-contact hours per week.
