NURS 4401 - Professional Development III: Leadership and ManagementCredits: 4 Prerequisites: NURS 4310 NURS 4510 NURS 4511 Corequisites: NURS 4512 NURS 4513 NURS 4111 This course is designed to emphasize the foundational relevance of quality leadership and management knowledge and skills necessary for the role of the professional nurse. This course helps the student to assimilate strategies and rationales for effective leadership and management in the professional nursing practice. Students read landmark documents that summarize research and evidence based recommendations for best quality care, consider best approaches, and develop core competencies to insure the implementation of best practices for better health care. In addition to theory, this course requires the completion of 90 clinical hours.
