EDUC 3306 - Assessment for InstructionCredits: 3 This course is designed to investigate developmentally appropriate assessment practices. Developmental appropriateness will be explored in terms of two dimensions: age appropriateness and individual appropriateness. Both formal and informal approaches to the assessment of learner progress will be analyzed. The course will embrace a philosophy of assessment that is continuous, based on a learner’s performance. Consideration will be given to traditional and alternative methods of assessing learner performance and the construction of instructional objectives; lessons plans and varied age-appropriate assessment techniques. Research and 15 hours of site-based clinical experiences are required.
