The program is designed to prepare students to work in a variety of settings related to food production, marketing and sales, and health promotion.

The curriculum includes basic and advanced courses in nutrition science, foods and food science.

In addition to academics, students have experiential requirements with local food producers and processors that showcase nutrition and food science related careers.

Goals:

  1. Provide comprehensive academic and practical experiences for students that will prepare them for careers in nutrition and food science such as food production, food product development, sales and marketing, and/or graduate school.
  2. Prepare students to serve the Arkansas delta region and the state by arranging for internships with local food producers and processors that showcase nutrition and food science related careers.
