Human Sciences, Human Sciences Education, B.S.

The Human Sciences Education option is designed to provide courses for students intending to teach on the secondary level. In addition to the course requirements in Human Sciences, students must also meet all of the requirements of the School of Education for prospective teachers. Objectives: 1) To provide Human Sciences Education students with the necessary background for teaching in secondary, middle schools, and adult education programs. 2) To prepare vocational human sciences students for work as home service directors and home economists in Cooperative Extension Services, in business, and in other professional positions related to human sciences education. 3) To provide students with knowledge of consumer oriented organizations and agencies at the local, state, and national levels that will enable them to assume responsibilities appropriate to their professional roles. 4) To prepare vocational human sciences students for graduate study in human sciences education and/or related fields.
